Salary and Benefits: $2,634.37 to $2,965 per fortnight (gross) plus 9.5% superannuation depending on skills, experience and education.
An opportunity exists to join Councils Place Activation team providing support the economic growth and prosperity of the region through the development and delivery of initiatives that enhance the reputation of the local government area as a great location to live, work, visit and invest on a full time basis.
Key components of this position will include:
- Contribute to the identification of economic development opportunities that attract new business and investment to the region.
- Facilitate initiatives that support the growth and development of a diverse business and commercial environment, elevate the profile of local business and industry, and generate opportunities for local and regional employment.
- Monitor, review and report on key economic development metrics to inform decision-making, planning and service delivery.
- Inform, advise and educate key stakeholders about the council’s economic development role.
- Maintain networks with local businesses, key agencies and other stakeholders to optimise economic development outcomes.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
- Assist in the implementation of actions from key council strategies and plans
The successful applicant will be located at either the Tumbarumba or Tumut office, with travel to other locations as required. Prior experience or a Tertiary qualification in Economics or Business is desirable, training will be provided for the successful applicant.
SALARY
Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 8 ranging from $2,634.37 to $2,,965 per fortnight (gross) plus 9.5% superannuation depending on skills, experience and education.HOW TO APPLY
