    And what is even better than working at a theme park? Being the driving force behind our big events and getting all the perks of the job!

    Gumbuya World is Victoria’s only Water, Wildlife and Theme Park in Victoria and we are only three years young.

    We need someone to come aboard for the ride within our Marketing and Sales Team. As a new theme park, there is massive scope to develop market with new customer accounts. You will be responsible for maximising our sales revenue by developing direct customer accounts.

    The right applicant for this role will have a lot of personal drive, persistence, enthusiasm and experience in events and events sales, but above all, will have that pizazz that it takes to work in a Theme Park.

    If you wanted to know what some of your responsibilities would be in this role, here are some of the key ones:

    • Project management for all events, both physical and online, with the vision to enhance and improve already strong foundations
    • Handling budgeting and invoicing
    • Be responsible and pro-active for developing new business within the events and functions arm of the business
    • Selling events through networking outside of the business
    • Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts
    • Developing database contacts with business organisations
    • End to end event management for Gumbuya Worlds large scale events and festivals etc.
    • Develop and implement growth strategies and plans to exceed revenue and profitability targets
    • Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients
    • Writing and presenting business proposals

    Here are the skills and experience we are looking for:

    • 5+ year’s event and sales experience in a similar role.
    • Effective communication and presentation skills; and a thorough knowledge of the event market.
    • Customer service orientated and very organised.
    • Excellent customer service and communication skillsA proven track record in strong presentation skills.
    • Experience in business-to-business sales at large corporate level preferred.
    • The ability to self-motivate and motivate a team.
    • Experience working to and exceeding targets
    • Experience in attractions, tourism, entertainment and/or theme parks DEFINITELY an advantage!

    Qualifications Required:

    • Working with children’s check (employer, not volunteer)
    • Police check
    • Responsible Service of Alcohol
    • Relevant tertiary qualification in business and/or events or relevant experience

    The nature of the events industry means that you will be required to work outside standard hours on occasions, particularly around events being staged at Gumbuya World. These could potentially include weekends and/or public holidays.
