The Role
We are seeking an Investment Manager to join our talented Investment and Initiatives team. This is a newly created role due to growth in Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and Property Capital Works Projects. Reporting to the General Manager, Investment and partnering closely with the CFO and COO, this role will lead allocated projects relating to Mergers & acquisitions; Development projects and contract management related to transactions.
You will be responsible for (not limited to):
- Providing strategic input to merger, acquisition & divestment transactions
- Assessing, monitoring and advising on commercial risks
- Preparing Board and investment committee papers in relation to potential Capital Works Projects
- Presenting to internal and external key stakeholders and decision makers regarding a strategic transaction ie winning a tender
- Assisting Capital Works Project Managers with completion and submission of Statutory, Government and Industry requirements
- Reviewing, scrutinizing, and developing potential construction and transaction contracts
- Leading cost reduction through contract negotiations
- Administration of contracts and contractual requirements
About You
You bring outstanding Corporate/M&A and transactions experience. You have a track record in effective engagement with senior business stakeholders and robust negotiation skills. You are able to synthesise complex information in a concise manner in a dynamic environment. Key personal attributes include enthusiasm, professionalism and integrity
To be successful in this role you will have:
- 5+ years’ PQE in an investment/M& A manager role with a large corporate firm
- Tertiary qualification in business/financial/legal discipline
- Proven experience in the execution of deals
- Budgeting, cost containment and capital investment proposal/review
- Expert negotiation skills
- Advanced business writing skills
- Outstanding project management expertise
- Solid and innovative problem solving, decision making and analytical capabilities
- Use of MS office suite of programs
- Tourism and Hospitality industry experience is desirable but not essential
You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative and flexibility to be successful in meeting the business demands at Discovery Parks. Your naturally upbeat and open style will fit our cultural values. You will have a highly organised mindset with the ability to assess the urgency of work allocated to you by various stakeholders.
