    Position Vacant: Marketing Coordinator

    Our client, Southern Queensland Country Tourism (SQCT) is seeking a passionate and experienced Marketing Coordinator to join their dynamic team, based in Toowoomba.

    One of 13 Regional Tourism Organisations (RTOs) in the state of Queensland, SQCT works closely with its industry partners; Tourism Events Queensland (TEQ), the State Government and the local government areas of:
    Toowoomba, Southern Downs, Western Downs and Balonne,
    to market and develop tourism in this region.

    This role will be responsible for the development and execution of marketing programs to achieve growth in consumer awareness and increase visitor numbers in Southern Queensland. This role is responsible for developing and delivering the digital marketing through a variety of platforms; provide marketing advice and support to industry and stakeholders and to coordinate the production of marketing collateral; monitor market trends and seek opportunities and provide relevant reports to the CEO and the Board as required.

    We are looking for someone who can work autonomously as well as being part of a dynamic team. The role is based in Toowoomba and will require regular travel within the region, to and from Brisbane and possibly from time to time interstate/international travel.

    This role reports to the CEO and works in close collaboration with key stakeholders and industry partners

    Just 90 minutes from Brisbane, Toowoomba crowns the edge of the Great Dividing Range 700 metres above sea level, overlooking the Lockyer Valley. Known as Queensland’s Garden City and home to the multi award winning Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.

    To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:

    • A passion for the tourism industry
    • Sound skills in marketing principles and practices
    • Tertiary qualifications in tourism, marketing and/or business or offset by relevant experience
    • Demonstrated ability to source and produce effective and relevant content for website, e-newsletters and digital channels
    • Demonstrated experience and skills in marketing with a focus on digital and experience marketing and the ability to develop and successfully implement destination strategies
    • Evidence of a high standard of communication skills in written, verbal and interpersonal forms
    • A valid C class driver’s license
