    The Temora Aviation Museum has an exciting opportunity for a key person to join the team and play a critical role as Operations Manager for one of the key tourist attractions in the Riverina.

    Conditions

    Interviews are expected to be held in mid to late April 2020.

    A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to commencement of employment.

    The position is located at the Temora Aviation Museum, 1 Tom Moon Avenue, Temora, NSW.

    Job Description

    Under limited direction of the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, this role is responsible for the overall well-being of the Museums operations. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining operation networks through effective liaison with visitors, stakeholder, community and special interest groups.

    The position provides leadership and direction through applying and monitoring human and physical resources to the site’s daily operations. These roles also support the site’s visitor- oriented experiences including programs, events, outreach, marketing and online services.

    The position will also be responsible for the implementation, maintaining and monitoring of the Museum’s Work Health & Safety (WHS) Management System, and will facilitate the annual WHS Gap Analysis and Strategic Plan.

    Ideal applicants will have:

    • Experience in leading effective teams that are both creative and operational, for at least 5 years, preferably, but not essentially within a museum, gallery, cultural heritage, arts or tourism environment.
    • You are a strategic and critical thinker who can analyse situations and make decisions geared towards the organisation’s strategic objectives.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with staff, volunteers, government agencies, community groups using a variety of hard and soft skills.
    • Adaptable – you are someone who is flexible, shows initiative and responds quickly and effectively to problems when situations change.
