Recovery for Regional Tourism – Good News Stories
Stanley & Tarkine Forage Festival
The amazing range of beef, seafood and produce grown in the Tasmanian northwest was on show this month.
During the 10-day event, visitors to this remote corner of the Apple Isle could savour it all at tastings, feasts, demonstrations, exhibitions and markets – all while enjoying the warmth and hospitality of the local community.
The Stanley & Tarkine Forage Festival was funded by the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism Program administered by Austrade.
PanPacific Games
The Gold Coast hosted the 10-day multi-sport Pan Pacific Masters Games this month. The sporting action and adrenalin spread right across the city with venues from Coomera to Carrara, Jacobs Well to Woongoolba and more than 40 fields, courts, and swimming pools.
A total of 18,000 medals were awarded in 42 sports to the 13,500 participants who came from every corner of Australia and 25 countries including teams from the UK, Canada, Sri Lanka and Guam.
Austrade’s Recovery for Regional Tourism program provided funding for the event. This supported the inclusion of new sports; water polo and pickleball.
