TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE
Earlier this week the Australian Government handed down the 2022-23 Budget, confirming Tourism Australia’s funding for the upcoming financial year as well as specific support measures for the tourism industry including the $60 million Tourism Marketing Recovery Plan announced last week. These funds will be critical for Australia’s international marketing efforts to restore international visitation to Australia in the coming years.
The Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon Dan Tehan MP, also launched the THRIVE 2030 Strategy – The Re-imagined Visitor Economy in Townsville at the end of last week. THRIVE 2030 is Australia’s national strategy for the long-term sustainable growth of the visitor economy and includes actions for governments and industry under three key themes: Collaborate, Modernise, and Diversify.
Last Friday Tourism Australia held the March Industry Webinar. If you missed the live webinar you can watch a replay online here. The next webinar will take place on Friday 22 April 2022. Register to attend, here.
