Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council
The Illawarra Local Aboriginal Land Council is an innovative not for profit organisation that seeks to develop and expand opportunities for Aboriginal people, culture and heritage within the Illawarra region.
We are working with the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) to pilot a research project called “Mt Keira Aboriginal Cultural Tourism and Cultural Connection Project”. This project aims to enable the local Aboriginal community to reclaim this important Aboriginal site as an area of learning and cultural significance through researching and documenting stories and transcripts relevant to this site.
The Role:
- Work with the Research Project Officer on the development of educational resources
- Develop industry standard educational resources for primary, secondary and tertiary institutions
- Develop tourism products and resources for business and government bodies
- Develop project plans including community engagement and quality improvement
- Network with relevant bodies to introduce products and resources to the education, business and government markets
- Document the development process through videography
- Report writing and submissions
Essential Criteria:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field such as education, business, marketing or communications
- Demonstrated experience in the development of curriculum materials
- Demonstrated experience in marketing and communication
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
- Experience working with students and volunteers in the delivery of a project (desirable)Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Current NSW drivers’ licence
- The successful applicant will be required to complete a Criminal History Check (CRC) and a Working With Children Check (WWCC) as conditions of employment
