From the Chair

Happy New Year everyone. I hope you all managed to find some time to rest, reflect and recharge. We spent two weeks at the family beech house at Sorrento, Victoria. I swear the place sinks a few centimetres at Christmas, such are the crowds these days. The ART Board and Executive Officer have been working over the break…

The Austrade website reports that more of regional Australia is benefitting from international visitor growth; about 4.1% per annum over the past five years, to be precise. Visitor nights in regional Australia are up 25% over 2011 to 2016. The biggest growth has been in nature and wildlife (10.6%), followed by culture and heritage (7.9%), and food and wine (7.4%). The site reports that this growth and some improved aviation capacity is a signal for regions to reconsider another investment pitch for product development (reinvigoration or new stuff).

To ART business… ART is recruiting for an Executive Officer of a new kind, to match our new organisation. The role transitions to greater time on projects and fund raising to do more projects. If you know a passionate, competent professional for the role, please encourage them to apply using the details outlined below. We’re happy to say that Belinda is still happily holding the interim EO role, while we continue the evolution of ART.

Settle into work, but keep the benefits of your break as long as you can.
